Here's how to prepare your photos...

  1. Select your photos to tell your story, and number them in the order you want them to appear. Use a quick drying felt-tip pen or a post-it note. Don't use a regular ball point pen because the ink can transfer to other photos when they are stacked together.

Choose the very best images you have, because these will yield the most polished production. Perfect composition is not the most critical factor -- image quality is. Avoid, if possible, over- or under-exposed images.

Try to choose pictures in a landscape format (wider than they are tall) because they more closely fit your television screen. Images may be cropped slightly during transfer to fit the display of your TV screen. Remember, you can also use announcements, clippings, home movies, and other memorabilia. Movies can appear in the same video as slides, but will be priced as separate orders. We prefer to accept slides in numbered carousel trays, but will work with loose numbered slides as well.

  2. You may choose music from a CD to add to your video. Include the CD with your pictures, and indicate which tracks you have selected. Be sure to select enough music for the length of your video. Your photo images will appear at approximately 10 per minute (six seconds each), so dividing your total number of images (including titles) by 10 will give you the length of your production in minutes. We may make minor adjustments to the length of time the image is on screen to fit your images to music. It is best to provide more music than you think you'll need. If you don't include music, we'll add light instrumental music for you.

  3. Next, you'll need to come up with titles for your video. The titles can be as simple or as creative as you want to make them. Let them express something special about the recipient, or your special thoughts on the occasion. You may wish to include a title page, a dedication page and an ending message. Each extra title counts as an image.

  4. Bring us (or send us) your photos, movies, slides, titles, music and instructions. The rest is up to us. In about two weeks, you'll be reliving those magical memories.
